When Mr Syaf is Tagged

OKAY, THIS IS SOMETHING I DON'T DO in my blogs but what the heck? Let's just have some fun with it!

SEE FULL VERSION HERE.

Tagged by zadm.

Three things about yourself:
Deeply in love with my wife, my food and my games

What's in your playlist:
Currently 3 Days Grace, MCR, Sinatra and Elvis

Your favourite music:
Varies according to mood

Favourite food:
Everything but onion

Define love:
My Mrs Exclusive

3 of your biggest fears:
I fear NOTHING!! ... 'cept maybe losing JuLeZz, extinction of chicken and downfall of Sony

Who do you love?:
Wasn't there a question like this above?

3 of the things you hate:
Such a strong word hate... but I guess, onion is one of them. The smell of onions. Lack of food. Hunger. Lagging internet connection when surfing and playing games on the PS3. Movie reviews! They're such spoilers. People who do not switch off their phones, talk and bring kids and babies to the cinemas! Idiotic drivers! People who complains too much but do nothing about them! People with obscure posts in their blogs which don't make sense at all like as if they are just talking randomly or just want to attract attention. The lack of peace in this world! War! The loss of humanity in everyone's heart and mind in this ever torn our world that we forcefully live in today which we take for granted! Oh... the torture... why was I tagged?!?

Do you blog?:
What a stupid question.

Tag 5 people:
Why tag five when I can tag you, you, you and you... AAAAND YOU!! So if you are reading this, YOU ARE OFFICIALLY TAGGED BY ME!!! Especially my Mrs Exclusive! =)

Frantic Narration

Have you ever narrated what is currently happening in front of you in your head? Or even compose something while you are driving, eating, walking or listening to someone during lectures or in the middle of doing work? I think, on the actuality that you are a blogger to begin with, we tend to narrate our life without realising it (or in this case, with) because we are addicted to blogging.

This afternoon, during the friday sermon, is a good example of what I went through. While listening to the sermon, I started to say the following in my head:

"Sitting there, listening to the sermon, I was wondering what the heck is going on. I couldn't understand much the topic of the sermon but it has something to do with public service..." blah blah blah.

A lot of the times, I just wish I can blog right there and then because once you take too long to write about it, the mood just goes away or you just forgot what you wanted to say whe it all happened. And that's when it kills you and you always end up writing "I want to blog about something but I don't know what..." or "I've got a lot ot say but I'm kind of tired/my muse is gone..." or "Something happened today, but I'll tell you about that tomorrow" etc.

Well, maybe it's just me. I don't know about you guys. Heck, I have a lot of blogs. Sin Adam, Shutter Speech, BruGamers, Tanah Air Ku - no wonder my brain is full of frantic narration.

FW: Why male models are NOT ok with car ads!

Thought I'd share this forward email sent by a friend. =)

Parties For The Kids

It's always fun when a kid's birthday is welcomed with a huge celebration - games here, parties there - heck, a huge fireworks display was even set up since it's still Hari Raya. I remember celebrating my birthdays like that (without the fireworks) years ago - ofcourse, I was still young. At my age now, to have such things would just sound look so ... childish. I'd rather have a huge BBQ party while giving people choices on what they could do such us a poker set, video games on a network, open air hang out outside in the compound and just chatting away, catching up with things. God, I miss my BBQs. I want it again!

Anyway, to the young ladies who just turned 5 and 2 - Happy Birthday. Let your parties grow old with you and not the other way around. Apakan!

The Toolbar from Heaven

I'm a huge Multiply user. More so than any of my other social network pages because everything else either sucks or plain annoying. I mean, come on, what's the point of sending a smile, wink or hell a poke? And why would anyone want to start a Top 10 friends? That's just plain insulting - to others ofcourse (I always make it top 10 haha!).

What I like about Multiply is the fact that it is not just a social network but can act as your own personal website. I mean, why pay all those online storage just to create your own personal homepage when Multiply offers unlimited space for your contents? Plus, things here are organised and easy for the eyes. You get to choose to simplify your front page rather than cluttering it with useless add ons or gadgets or whatever. Best part? The privacy settings. Yes, the power is yours to set who gets to view your contents. Heck, even non-users can view it. That's why I love it.

Why am I talking about Multiply all of a sudden? Because they just released their toolbar. I generally hate toolbar. They are annoying and they take up too much of my browser space. Hell, I minimise everything in firefox, move tools around, hide buttons I do not need and memorise shortcuts to buttons I usually use so that I can get as much space vertically as I can so I view more of the page at one glance. Heck, my firefox only had two toolbar lines and that's it. Note, had. Okay, I'm going overboard here. Basically, I hate toolbars. They are useless.

Anyway, now, I have the Multiply toolbar. And my God, does it save a lot of time. It has the My Multiply button so you can go directly to your My Multiply page. You can click on My Site so you can view your homepage. You click on Post and it pops up the list of things you can post such as Blog, Photos, etc without having to go to the actual page. You can search straight from the toolbar and it also includes a login/logout button. My favourite? The toolbar includes updates on any new posts or replies in your network, which you get the option to set how long you want it refreshed.

You should try it out. It's a Godsend. Click here to install now.

A Hell of An Open House

A few days ago, we had this one hell of a party at my aunt's open house. She even asked me to invite my friends (whom she knows of) but alas, none of them were able to come. Still, it was great.

People were singing Hari Raya songs on karaoke all night. Food was served everywhere, inside, outside and in the VIP guests room. Huge ass fireworks played every time while people were singing, gathering crowds at the edges of their tents to watch the magnificent fire in the sky. Kids were singing. People were dancing. Even the old ones. Guests kept coming and coming. Shaking hands. Talking to people they haven't met for so long as well as meeting new faces. Cameras flashed everywhere. Video cameras recorded every possible event. Everything just happened all at once that it ended up being a blast. Hell, JuLeZz and I stayed there till after midnight and the party was still loud. I have to say, that was one of the best Hari Raya I've ever had.

Check out the album here for photos.

Selamat Hari Raya to you all.

PS: Guess what the above photos is?

Interested in me?

I'm sure you guys get spam messages from unknown users or even a personal message from some weird psychotic person giving you an email of hers/his claiming they are interested in you after visiting your multiply page and while declaring that love is the ultimate answer to everything.

Heck not so long ago, I got this spam message from some random moron filled with porn links and images. The most annoying part was that people kept replying to this message saying that they do not want such thing and because of this, it kept bumping up my 'My Multiply' page and an alert got sent to my email inbox. Stupid people who complains at the wrong place.

I'm sick and tired of it. I've already sent a message to customer service but all I got was a "thanks for reporting this matter" message. Useless.

Here's the latest retard interested in me after seeing my multiply page. I was like "yeah-right - if you did, you'll see I'm married jackass.

From nacybaby

Black Chaos

I'm a bit annoyed. Wait, no. Extremely frustrated.

Recently, I've managed to talk to some friends into getting a PS3. I also found out another friend of mine is a PS3 convert. That said, I told them to register on PSN, get Warhawk and add me. A few days down the road, I saw their message for a friend request. Then guess what happened? I got disconnected off the internet.

I tried over and over again but nothing happened. It just kept saying that Ethernet cable is not detected (or was it connected? well, whatever). I checked the back of my PS3 and the ethernet port did not show the green light it always does when you are connected to your router (I don't use wireless since wifi is rather vulnerable). I panicked, fearing that my ethernet port on the PS3 might be damaged. So I unplugged the whole damned cables off the PS3's back, carried the huge black ass mammoth upstairs to my brother's room and unplug whatever PS3 was connected in his room and plugged mine in.

And joy it was! I could get online!

Turns out it was the 20m cable I had running from the router to my PS3 that was faulty. Crap. Now I can't play Warhawk just yet. That sucks.

To you guys, y'know who you are, I'll get you on Warhawk soon enough. Just wait till I get a new cable.

Just great huh? I get lotsa Bruneians to play Warhawk with, and this happens. Shit.

PS: Thought I'd attach a photo of three PS3s taken in my brother's room when I was panicked. Thought it looked cool. One is mine, the other is my brother's and the third is his friend. I think we should have a PS3 party and just put each other's PS3 in a line and take a photo of it. Haha!

Those Days of Boy Bands

I don't know how old you guys are but I am sure most of my readers are old enough to have been in the boy band era. Ever since lastnight, JuLeZz and I have been reminiscing that time when them boy bands were huge. People loved them, adored them and even worshipped them. Heck, as much as I was into groups like Oasis and Wheatus, I am not afraid to admit that I also listened to a boy band called the Backstreet Boys. Man, I even own all their albums up to Black and Blue (not the recent one though).

Lastnight, JuLeZz dug her old CD collections and found the BSB's albums. We ended up listening to the BSB all night. Man, did the songs bring back some old memories and feelings from years back. Then I remembered one song by BSB that I loved so much and seems like I still do. That song is I'll Never Break Your Heart. They made two videos of that song. One was the original video and the other, a remake, when the song was part of their Greatest Hits album. I especially love the last part of the song.

Anyway, I went to youtube, found the videos and thought I'd post them here.

Funny how my tastes in music has changed so much.

Here's a bonus, the Spanish version.

Warhawk, A Story of A Respawning Soldier

You find yourself on one side of a battlefield.
You look around and you see more people, teammates, joining in on the fight. Everything is silent as everyone runs towards their tactical positions. Picking up ammunitions, weapons, gears. Boarding 4x4s and tanks. Commanding turrets, machine guns. Piloting a Warhawk. The silence only lasted for a few seconds when the first explosion is heard.

You run, looking for something. Anything to survive. Picking up weapons and gears, you see an empty Warhawk at a distance. You get on and the Warhawk starts to hover. You switch into flight mode and a few seconds later you are zooming in the skies of Eucadia. All of a sudden, red lights start to flicker everywhere. Even before you realise what the warning sign meant, your Warhawk obliterates into a million pieces.

You respawn. This time, thinking you are better off driving a ground vehicle. You see a tank parked. You board and you start driving. You look at the digital map and find your enemy's base. You plan to capture their zone so your teammates have more place to respawn. But your thoughts didn't last long. You see a Nemesis flying through the sky, shooting at you. You see your enemies throwing grenades at your tank. And before long, before you can see what's coming at you, your tank explodes, bringing you down.

You respawn. You see a 4x4 and start to drive it. It's fast. It's light. And you think that you can easily outrun all the other vehicles, including soldiers on foot. You see an enemy in front and you ram into him. You see a Nemesis flying towards you, you outrun it between the trees. And finally, you reach an enemy base. And you drive towards their flag. But at the corner of your eyes, you see the shadow of a tank. Next thing you know, you've respawned.

You tell yourself, this is not the end. You respawn yourself next to a turret. You board the turret and start to aim at everything in the sky and the ground. Warhawks, Nemesises, tanks, 4x4s. They fall down to your missiles. You laugh and feel that you have finally conquered it all. But before success was reached, a foot soldier plants a rocket launcher at you.

You respawn. This is war.

The end.

Like my little story? That's the experience you get in Warhawk. Everything is fast. You don't get time to think much. You have to think in advance. Go plan fast. Know where you are going. Know what you are aiming at. Because if you don't, you die. And you will keep dying. And you will keep standing up. And you will try to find that last son of a bitch who just made you cry out fowl in your room.

Get Warhawk. I absolutely love it.

See video here.

Pest Problem

We've been having a pest problem at work and recently it just got really annoying. Rats have been eating my books, even this box of ant poison I kept (probably made it high). Everywhere in my drawers I find rat pee and poo. Heck, all my colleagues' desks around my area have been 'visited' by the annoying pest.

So, one day, I did a short research on how to repel the damn thing not wanting to kill it. Killing it would just mean more work. Trapping it is the same. It was at this time that I found out on some forums that mint leaves could repel them.

Last Friday, I went and bought mint leaves. Came Saturday, I spread them everywhere in my drawers thinking that this could finally solve my problem.

Monday came and guess what? The stupid rats ate my mint leaves clean. And I mean clean. Not a single stem was left lying around. And what did they leave behind for me? I think you could guess what.

But I guess I did them a favour. At least they're crawling around with fresh breath.

PS: Anyone know of any way to REPEL rats?

Aunt's Another Year

I forget dates easily. Yes, even as a teacher, I don't really pay attention to dates that much. So there I was sitting in the living room, blogging news on BruGamers' website while julezz188 was singing with kneezparoxism on karaoke when the sound of people singing was put to a hault. JuLeZz mentioned today's date and reminded me of (jengjengjeng) my aunt's birthday.

So, if it wasn't for my Mrs Exclusive, I wouldn't have been able to send a text to my aunt on time to wish her a happy birthday.

Happy Birthday Bungsu Suri!
All the best with everything this year!

Joke: Horse And Chick

Horse And Chick

A horse and a chicken are playing in a meadow. The horse falls into a mud hole and is sinking. He calls to the chicken to go and get the farmer to help pull him out to safety. The chicken runs to the farm but the farmer can't be found. So he drives the farmer's Porsche back to the mud hole and ties some rope around the bumper. He then throws the other end of the rope to his friend, the horse, and drives the car forward saving him from sinking!

A few days later, the chicken and horse were playing in the meadow again and the chicken fell into the mud hole. The chicken yelled to the horse to go and get some help from the farmer. The horse said, "I think I can stand over the hole!" So he stretched over the width of the hole and said, "Grab for my 'thingy' and pull yourself up." And the chicken did and pulled himself to safety.

The moral of the story:

If you are hung like a horse, you don't need a Porsche to pick up chicks!

Prefer is not hating another

I sit down feeling a bit insulted at a reply I just got from one of my blogs.
I spent a whole night writing an article on the PlayStation 3 on my BruGamers blog to give light to those who are in the dark with the PS3 since there aren't a lot of Bruneians who own one, especially since the Wii and xbox 360 are heavy on the piracy side. But that's not the point.

I'm insulted at two things. The two things I find myself define part of me.

1. Before writing the blog, I clearly said that I am not biased towards the PS3 and that I equally love all game consoles, even though differently, in plain English. Read it if you want.

2. I prefer hardware over software and people who know me know that I read more about hardware than software. I look at the technical specs on top of the programs. I look at the power before I look at its heart. I look at the potential on the outside before what's offered inside.

Now clearly, this reply I read insults my intelligence to write in clear English like as if I didn't write it clearly enough what I laid out at the beginning of the article. Secondly, I am clearly being insulted by saying that I am biased towards one thing due to the software line-up AKA games.

Games are fun and cool but it is not the reason why I bought the PlayStation 3, left my Wii gathering dust and sold my 360. Games aren't the reason why I spent over a thousand for a PS3 and raced to buy it the first time it came out.

As most of you probably know by now, I prefer Sony over anything else. And getting a PS3 is just part of a collection. I buy a lot of Sony products but that doesn't mean that Sony is better. In a lot of ways, Sony products are gorgeous. But expensive. For example, I'd rather play music on an iPod than those Sony Walkmans because the iPod software is cooler. I'd rather use an Apple Mac than a Vaio because Mac is smoother than Windows. I'd much rather take photos with a Nikon over the Sony Alpha because the photo results are better. Hell, I'd play xbox 360 games over the PS3 games because I hate motion sensing and ofcourse to play old time favourites from the original xbox. But, again, Sony products give better hardware when compared to the price that all these others can give. And they look gorgeous too. It's a collection. I don't intend to not own the other things. I do, but my money goes to what I want first.

I prefer Sony over Apple. I prefer Sony Ericsson over Nokia. I prefer the PlayStation 3 over an xbox 360 or a Wii. Heck, I preferred the original xbox over the PS2 and PC. Why? Because the xbox offerred built-in hard disk, out of the box online play and no installation for games
(but we were a small group during those years when people were into PC gaming).

To prefer one thing over another does not mean you hate the other. You guys do know what 'prefer' means, yes?

Technology isn't the only thing I love. I love writing and to be insulted as if my writing wasn't clear? This is why I am an English teacher. Frustrates me when people out there misunderstands something they read as a personal attack on them, which clearly happens to a lot of us Bruneians. Which is why comprehension exercises in your English lesson is important.

This brings me to a whole new subject, how good is your reading and understanding of the text? I'll pick on this subject matter on another blog post. Right now, I'm just really pissed. And no, I don't prefer being pissed. I just have no choice but to indulge in this stupid feeling that humans get when someone deem to insult the intelligence of another. I prefer being acknowledged for my effort.

Rejected

So I was sitting at Dreamcones today sweating straight after our extremely hot Isyrak Mikraj event at work, tired and wanting a good company but only to be rejected by a certain birthday boy who wouldn't want to come and see me and receive a personal birthday wish, handshake and hug. Can you believe it? I've never felt so rejected. Never!

And on top of all that, he had to be busy on his birthday! Lectures, going to the airport, dinner - wth man? It's your birthday! It should be spent celebrating all day! Skip lectures! Be excused from errands! Meet Syaf! Yes! Me!

Man, all I ever wanted was to wish him a happy birthday personally. But nooooo! Dude, and you know who you are, you suck. And hope you have a happy birthday Ripin.

PS3 Tags

I was just trying out PS3tags. They make tags for you that you can use in forums or wherever (tags are usually popular in forums anyway) and adds info about your PS3 and your PSN id. I made the following as mine. I think it will auto-update if I edit it from the site.

Anyway, if you're interested, you can try PS3tags.com.
There's also PS3tag.com but I started with PS3tags so I didn't wanna be bothered with trying another site again. Tags are just not my thing.

Exactly A Year Ago Today

Exactly a year ago, I got my job.
Today marks my 1 year anniversary as a working man. And what happened a year later? Extremely busy, 7 days a week of work (I'm talking about this week - after a 6 day work last week). Exhausted much? I believe so. But the 29th of August doesn't only mark my career.

Exactly a year ago, this and this happened. Yes, that historical night where JuLeZz and I didn't know we were engaged. Who knew that the day we first met we'd be engaged not even 6 months later? Who knew that exactly a year after we met we'd get married? Heck, who knew that today we'd be here?

You wanna hear the story of the The Exclusives? You'll find it here. I shall re-tell the story another time.

Although it doesn't matter, but happy engagement anniversary anyway.

Never Knew

Over time, you see that things around
you don't always stay the same. Like people, your surroundings can change by the absence of another. This has been true, even if only for a day, due my sister's leaving to study abroad. Funny how you can feel that there's something missing at home. Or rather someone.

My wife said a few hours ago to me how the house feels rather empty now in the afternoon when how she got used to having someone, aka mimi, whenever she gets home. When I got home earlier, I realised how true that was. There was always someone there sitting in the dining room watching TV, or something making noise outside my room, in the kitchen, outside the house carrying laundry. Heck, sometimes some random music is playing somewhere until I realised it was just my sister's mobile phone. God, I think I'm gonna miss that. Never knew I would.

And even now, tears are falling down my cheeks for the first time. That, I never knew I would.

This post I dedicate to my sister. I wish her goodluck and all the best. Hope she has all the strenght in the world to hold on to everything there.

Enjoy the UK sister!

A Morning Support

I went to this Interzone Netball competition last Friday morning (yeah, I had to wake up really early for sports - which I'm not even in - surprise?) to give support to my wife's team. While doing that, I took some photos. Check it out.

And there's JuLeZz.

Picky or Just Plain Idiotic?

I wanna be able to blog again. Maybe, I'll find a few seconds right before I go to bed, like lastnight, just to share a few words here.

I'm at WyWy (Bengkurong I think) right now, having my lunch break with Anwar while waiting for the afternoon session of our Mac OS training. We just spent a good 20mins talking and catching up until I got bored of it - I'll tell you more about that in a moment.

This particular post is made available thanks to the existence of this Apple MacBook we've been using for our training. It sucks because there's no Java installed on this thing (have to remind myself to do that later), which therefore makes it a bit hard to blog and post stuff via this thing. As you can see from last night's post, I didn't have a photo attached to it.

Anyway, that's the boring bit. When I was talking to Anwar just now, he got to talking about his old job at a certain restaurant here as a waiter. The interesting bit is how he got to see the different kinds of people who go to eat at a restaurant. Imagine someone wanting a new teh tarik just because the one given to him earlier had lost its bubbles. I mean, seriously? The essence of that diabetic drink doesn't come from the bubbles. Some people.

There were more things he mentioned but I kinda forgot about them now.

Are you like that?
Or have you ever waited before and dealt with such customers?
Or have you ever heard of stories about customers such as that?

Please, share your thoughts on this matter. I'm interested to know.

That Apple Fanboy

Man, I have so much to say but I haven't got much time. I haven't blogged for so long. God, how I miss doing this. There has been so many times where I would just like to put the thoughts in my mind with ink, but somehow, I can only think of one thing: work.

Lately, I've been going to this Mac training course since the government is supplying Macs to schools. After we've done the course, we are to then teach others at work. Fun stuff? Not entirely.

I've used a Mac before, and absolutely loved it. But in the end, I prefer Windows. But this guy, the guys who was talking in front of the room, trying to show people what a Mac can do, just annoys the hell out of me. He says stuff like "Windows can't do this", "Windows can do that", "You don't have this in Windows". How biased can someone be?

Seriously though, I liked using Mac for different purposes but I prefer Windows, even though some times it gives me frustrations. Both sides have its own advantages and disadvantages. That's why Linux is the best! (kidding!)

Right, off to the birthday dinner.

Taking A Minute

I am currently at work and the internet is finally working. I realised I haven't been doing this for quiet some time and I miss this. So I thought I'd drop by, say hello and hi from work and let those who care that I am still live and kicking. Just been pretty busy with everything. Not married life (married life is the bomb mind you). I'm more caught up with a heck of a lot of work. Tomorrow, I'll be out at the Bersama Rakyat event thingy in bandar. See ya all there if you're making the early morning show!

PS: I've decided to cross-post to my blogger since I still have people going there. Oh and just so you know, I also cross-post to shutterspeech.com and brugamers.com. See ya!

Soon-To-Be to be Be

Just incase you do not understand the title of this entry, next week the Berjarum-jarum ceremony will be held. So commence the beginning of the engagement period for... well for us. =)

Hopefully, insyallah, everything will go as planned. I am so excited! After this step, then we deal with the marriage planning. I seriously can't wait to get there. I mean the marriage part, not the planning. Although, the planning might be interesting as well - especially since I love planning parties. Then again, marriage planning will be different.

And so, what have we learnt? Life is beautiful after all - just coz there are beautiful people like the both of us. Mwahahahaaa!!

Don't forget to contribute in our Fund! It's still open to the public! Posted by Picasa
