Once A Man, Now A Boy

Funny how you can change so suddenly within a short period of time. At one time, you have these beliefs that you know will forever stay with you until the end of your life and forever make you happy. Then something came along that changes everything that you knew, something that contradicts what you once held on to that meant happiness, something that opposes the very beliefs you trust would take you up into the best option in life.

It then breaks your wings, shatters the very ground you stood on, making you fall down so fast but only to land in a soft and comfortable couch in a mysteriously recognisable speedboat that makes you feel so funny inside, speeding fast through the sea during the day, at all times still making you feel cozy, and then... you are brought to an enormous cruise ship that cruises through the starry night sky, waiting, and just waiting, knowing that the journey can only have more never ending great surprises that continues on for a lifetime. And that, my friends, is what has happened, and is happening to me right now.

Idiots With Their Idiotic Reasons

I guess a number of things have been contributing to the pain I've been suffering for the past few days. With all the things I had to think of, all the things I had to do, all the things I've been lacking, no wonder my blood pressure increased.

Today I feel so much better. No headaches. No pain. No dizziness. A normal day I haven't had for so long. I was so happy as the day started. Happy like never before. Happy to be alive in fact. Then came a comment from a friend about me posting her pictures on my workstation. I was like WHAT? Her reason? Her boyfriend doesn't like the fact that some guy is putting up a picture of her on his desk. I don't get it. It's not a single photo of her. It's not a photo of just me and her alone. Heck, it's a f**king group photo! And hell, her being in the picture wasn't even the reason why I posted it there. In one of them, I just look freakin good (oh yeah!).

Why am I so worked up about it? Because these are special pictures that tell stories about the past the I so cherished - a special part of my life that I want to include on my daily life while doing my TP. Heck, even my students give me their pictures (group pictures) and I posted it there. Some idiots just think that they are the reason for everything. Y'know what I call that? F**king Perasan.

Anyway, I don't think it's worth my time to deal with it. Come Monday, I'll have them thrashed and replaced with better photos. Man... how do you define "friends" these days?

Surviving the Pain

The past three days have been really crazy for me. Never have I felt such pain in my life. I had a headache that lasted three freaking days. I've been missing work, both morning and night, and I've been staying in bed, sleeping most of the time. Or atleast trying to.

Yesterday I went to the hospital. Something I rarely do - especially since I rarely get sick (and the fact that I'm not so fond of the hospital). The doctor told me that my blood pressure was high so they had to get some blood sample. That happened today. I went to the hospital again, still with the headache, and they took 4bottles of blood. I've never felt so amazed at seeing all the blood rushing out like that. Sick, but I found it cool.

Funny thing is, I felt better right after that. Well okay, not directly. I did rest a bit. But now, I'm all better. My headache's gone. I can do my work easily now. I can think properly. And my chest doesn't hurt anymore (oh yeah, it's been hurting the past few days too).

So what really was the problem? The doctor said it could be stress related or because of the heat. Stress, perhaps. I wouldn't be surprise - with all the lack of sleep I've been getting, all the extra work I've been doing. Heat? Definitely. I can't stand the hot sun. Always gives me a headache. But not like this though.

Anyway, I just thank God I'm better now. Hopefully, it'll be like this tomorrow. In two weeks time, I've got an appointment with the doctor. Pray that everything will be alright for me.

Feeling Younger By The Day

This year's birthday just seem to get better and better. First, a day before my birthday, my students sang a birthday song for me - dragging a heck of a lot of people outside the class. Then, today... this photo happened.

I was entering class with my cooperating teacher (who came to observe my lesson) then I heard some of the students saying "Uh-oh!" I thought they had some mischievious plans for me behind my back. As the cooperating teacher sat at the back, my students told me to open the sliding doors of the whiteboard. Then guess what was behind it? Words shouting "HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR. SYAF" with their signatures surrounding it AND a photo of me and them printed! And what was printed on it? Words saying "Vainity Strikes!" and that's no typo. I was shocked!! That was one hell of a surprise I did not expect! Check out my multiply for more pictures.

But that wasn't the end of it. As I started my lesson, still shocked, I realised that some of the students were missing. When I was about to ask, all of a sudden, the missing students came in with a birthday cake!!! As if "vainity stirkes" wasn't enough, this time, on the cake, they spelt my name as "Shafiq" ... waduh~

Because of all that, I told them that I wouldn't give them homework. I'm such a nice teacher.

I thought the surprise ended there. Then they gave me this huge manila card with everyone's signature on it! Again, I noticed it said "Birtday" on it. These students really need a good English lesson.

But no, it didn't end there! At the end of the class they gave me gifts!! I was so shocked, surprised, touched and... hell I have no idea what else to say but that was one hell of a surprise because I was really really surprised!! Yes, I've never felt so surprised. I normally can predict these kinds of things but damn~ these kids were good.

Throughout the class, I couldn't control the lesson well but the students were surprisingly well behaved today - so it all went well. What did my cooperating teacher say? He said these kinds of things happen - dont worry. Hey, at least I've got a good rapport with the students! That's a plus for a teacher trainee!! Posted by Picasa

Coming of Age

Needless to say, these two are such a happy couple anyway. haha! This photo was taken at the bean.

Oh and guess what? To support what I've said about my morning working life, today my students sang a happy birthday song to me in class, loud enough until my other class next door heard them sing that they came over to join. I was touched but alas, I really had to give them homework even after they asked not to.

Anyway, a great pre-birthday and man were the guys full of it today. Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone. Zool thanks for the weird chicken pose. Ripin thanks for joining me today. Juggling Lives






I welcome the holidays! Even though it's just short, but I welcome it more than anything that I've ever wanted! I seriously need this. I can't stand juggling two jobs. It is seriously making me depress every night. Maybe that's part of the reason why I've been so in a bad mood at my night job. But I'm still loving TP.

Everything's just so much fun in the morning - except maybe preparing for lessons. The staff is friendly, the people there are great, heck I've got great students too! This one time, one of my students came up to me outside of class and said to me "Mr Syaf, can you come with me please?" and I was like "Err... why?" The student then said "I want to show you to my friends" then I went "What?!" Haha! Teaching is such a great profession - now if only I could stay. But alas, I've got other plans for myself and my future. Improvements are vital to this beautiful life of mine. Posted by Picasa

A Portview of Kampong Ayer

Took a one night leave from work lastnight and spent the night with the guys. I've been wanting to hang out in Bandar for awhile, especially since it's so peaceful there at night compared to Gadong. And since lastnight being a Saturday night, Gadong would've been extremely jam-packed. So we went to Portview for dinner.

Great place to hang out really - and the photo on the left side is a rare moment... mofo scratching santet's DS, playing a game. Wahahaha! I wouldn't be caught doing that... well okay, I kinda did that first - but I stopped coz I felt silly.

Eventually, we ended up in Gadong lastnight and hung out at the bean. We were right about how full Gadong would be. Almost 11pm, the place was still full of people. Thank God we were lucky enough to find a parking space right in front of the bean. Posted by Picasa

Fresh Out of the Can

I've been letting working life (or more like lives) get to me. But now, after having a night off, and spending a great afternoon with friends just relaxing and hanging out - shopping even - I realised the thing I missed out the most - my happiness. And I keep telling people not to sweat the small stuff but forget to really stick that in my own head.

Saturday's a great day. Been pissed off a lot because of work, especially with the people at the night job. Amazing how you can be so nice to a lot of people most of the time then they end up forgetting what you've done for them. No wonder I'm picky with the people I hang out with. Still, life has it's share of ups and downs.

Although 2006 started out with difficulty and the need of major adjustments in my life, I'm glad that it turned out great now. I'm able to go to bed early, most of the time before midnight. I wake up early with no problems these days and I don't get that sleepy in the afternoons anymore. Above all, I'm picking up on life where I left it a year and two months ago. A full year of sleeping mostly at 6 - 8am is enough. My body clock is back to normal - or at least it's the "normal" that most people keep telling me about.

I feel like a fresh new me now.
Or maybe it's the haircut I just had?

In Search of The Stream

Am I doomed for the rest of this month till April? Work in the morning, another job at night, lack of sleep everyday... life feel's like a huge pile of mess, unhealthy definitely.

It's been awhile since I've posted a decent entry here. Inspirations just didn't come about too often and when it did, it was when I'm away from any means of writing materials. At most times, I usually have nothing to say. Now, I've got plenty. I just don't have the time to do so.

Just to quickly post what I'm trying to say before I forget, I'm having fun with both jobs actually but the fact that I'm not getting my proper sleep is bad.

So what do I do? Do what I always do - stop thinking and keep following the stream of life. Eventually, I'll be on a smooth ride - to heaven or hell, only God knows.
